When I made a doodle of a knot in my notebook I was immediately struck with the idea of making a knot out of an inflexible material, such as wood. So I digitalised my drawing and started to experiment with the laser cutter to translate the fluidity of the knot design into a material that has practically become synonymous with stiffness.
